View Full Version : Pan Lube Bullets
I read were this is used for Black Powder loads. Can it be use for lube on smokeless powder loads up 2200 fps. I have been using Liquid Alox. I don't like it for these loads. Works ok for handgun velocities.

You can use vertually any lube for pan lubing, You will find an excellent tutorial about it here

just make sure you clean the bases off on smokeless bullets or they will deaden the powder and you will get squibs.
Which lube is reccomended for this.

LGS- you can pan lube with whatever lube you feel like using, be it Felix's blend or some commercial stuff. If you are going commercial I would recommend some of lar 45's stuff, if for no other reason than price. I haven't managed to use up enough lube to buy any from him yet, but, from all I've read on this site I think his stuff may be the way to go; at least until I decide to make my own. Goatlips' site is what got me started, the only changes to his method that I do are I use the stovetop instead of the oven, (electric range) and the whack 'em with a knife handle didn't work well for me, or my knife handle. I use a heat gun, (blow dryer would work) to slightly heat up the 'cake' and push them out. The amount of heat depends on how soft/hard/sticky your lube is when set up. Hope this helps.

Does Lar 45 have a web site or other place to order his lube.
