Have a 475L in a bfr coming my way. What nose to crimp dimension do I need? What are boolits that have worked best?

From what I could find on search heavy works better in the BFR?

Thanks, Rod

I'll have to measure, but the Lee 400 is too long if it is crimped in the second crimp groove.

I don't know right off either, but the RCBS cast 400 grain works proper crimped in the groove and is a fine shooter to boot, never found a reason to get another boolit for it, even though it is only a single cavity.

I have always focused on getting the case mouth hanging past the crimp groove the optimal amount to get the best roll of the mouth without distorting the boolet. You can experiment with different dies and get varrying results. I got some of the best roll cromps on .500 S&W by using a .50AE taper crimp die, of all things.

.455 is what mine measure and there isn't much room left

I measure 0.464" with zero clearance.

Thanks for the input. It helps me pick a mold before I get my hands on my BFR.

Soon I hope!
