What kind of prices have you guys been seeing on BRP, converted Rugers, FA, whatever, on the .475's.

What is the best way to find a really good deal and how much can I expect to spend?

FA's will go from anywhere from $1,000 to over $2,000 on gunbroker. There's a couple on there now. BFR's can be picked up for under $1,000 on gunbroker and right now Bud's Guns has a used one for $659.00, which is a pretty decent price. Converted Rugers are going to cost you a lot more if they're converted by top draw gunsmiths such as Bowen, Clements etc - there expect to pay $1,500 and up depending on options/condition - I think most run around $2,300 used but normally shot very little. A lot of it is pride of ownership and having something different than most, so just depends on how much money you want to spend.

the 475 freedom arms guns tend to hold a little premium over the same gun in 454.

CDNN had 480 Rugers until quite recently. Nothing to convert. Not a 475 but maybe close enough for what you want to do.

I believe that AD is incorrect. They are 480/475L BFR's. It has something to do with the way BFR lists them becasuse the ad in Sports South also listed it as a 480. Had my fingers crossed :)

But for $600....

Thanks guys, that gives me enough to see a deal if I run into it. I've been looking for a Linebaugh for so long it's ridiculous. I guess that says something for his workmanship, you just hardly ever see them for sale used!

Thanks Ed, but I am not a fan of the SRH, I have to like the looks of any gun I own. This is NOT Meant to belittle any one that likes them, I just don't!:bigsmyl2:

well I looked at my links and they sold. The Linebaugh was around 2950 and the Bowen was 2300. Not bad prices and no wait

Thanks tek4260, unbelievable isn't it? The old expression, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" sure holds true!

Have a new bfr 475 w/ 6.5bbl being shipped to my dealer I use. It took a while to get. The dealer had to talk his distributer into calling mag researsh, they called my dealer then it went on the list as a special order. $900.

Nobody had one in 475 with the shorter bbl. Only 7.5 bbl

Its not as cheap as some on-line, but I'm getting what I want, not what the dist happened to have.

Sports South has the 6.5" 475L in stock. Just logged into my dealers account and checked.

If your price is OTD it is fair. I used to post wholesale prices because my dealer will show you his invoice, add 20%( 13% profit, 7% sales tax) and that was your total. He beat everyones price. Some here on the internet send me nasty PM's when I post wholesale prices, so I quit doing that. Also, my dealer got better prices and 1st shot at popular firearms because he bought so much and added his invoices up himself and sent a check on the 1st and 15th of every month. That is probably why he can get them and others have to "special order"

.

I wonder why that is? Is that one inch that much difference? I wanted a 6.5 but got a 7.5 for 750 NIB OTD.

Don't know, I called the shops here and they couldn't get the shorter barrel. That was about 3 mo ago. Guess they made some recently including mine.
