Found an as new in box Redhawk in 45 Colt. Stainless steel, the Ruger Hogue grips and 4" barrel, for $516, O.T.D.
Always kind of wanted a 45 Colt D.A revolver, any thoughts? Problem areas? Cast bullet reccomendations? Price seem reasonable?
I have no desire to turn this into a 44Mag...just kind of a big bore plinker. Won't hunt with it, probably just steel tarets mostly.

I've had mine for 2 years now and the honeymoon is still not over. I love this pistol. I like 2 molds for plinker loads in it. Lee 255gr RNFP and RCBS 255gr SWC Keith style. Unique powder to the tune of 8 to 8.5gr seems to be what it prefers. That's a great price for one out the door, buy it and don't look back.

It came with those Hogue condom grips, i bought a set of new old stock redhawk grips and fit them.

That's a great deal! I have one that started life as a .45 Colt but ended up a .454 Casull. Going to start working up loads for it soon. The little bugger bites off the bench!

Nice find a 265gr projectile over 8.5grs of 231 or 13grs of HS-6 and hammer away.Enjoy!

Thanks! Yeah, Jack Huntington took the cylinder that was in my .454 SRH and fitted it to the Redhawk. Easy swap that only required a little massaging.

What exactly was "little massaging"? I have thought about doing the same thing because I have seen several 454 SRH's go for less than $400 at my dealers. I believe the cylinder alone is worth that much to do a swap like this.
