Hmmm....figured this would be the best place to ask this question. I'm out of Ed' Red and am ordering some lanolin from one of those soap supply places for a new batch.....anything else I should order while I'm at it that would be useful? They have all kinds of waxes, oils, and butters...most plant based organic....any advice is appreciated...thanks!

Got it....I know what the Carnuba would be used for but how/what would you use the stearic acid for?

make sure it's anhydrous lanolin. and I think you can use ivory soap for the steric acid.

Greetings:
Check out Durofelt (on search engine). I just received a bottle of 100 % pure lanolin from them. They also supplied me with a sheet of hard wool felt for use in punching out wads.
Excellent stuff.
Also, while trying to figure out a substitute for mutton tallow, I did a search on ebay on tallow.
On supplier is selling oleostearate candles.
Anyone out there use this stuff in their recipes?

I need some lanolin for the same thing. Where are you getting it from, and how much are they charging? I'm figuring to buy probably 4 or 5 pounds since I got the acetone, kerosene, and mineral spirits in gallon cans, though maybe I don't need that much.
