mygun was built in 2010 stainless/synthetic with a 1.5x4.5 bushnell banner. I am attempting to use a 310 gr lee gas check. i water quenched wheelweight alloy and lubed with Darr lube and sized .432
I loaded 10 test rounds with 22.0 of H110, 10 also of 250 grain keith GC from mt baldy over 24.0 H110, does anybody have other ideas? i wanted 4 or 5 loads to test and i have various powders to try

Try 21-22 gr. of 2400 with the 250 gr Keith GC.

How did you find 77/44 - I couldn't find one to save my soul - please let us know how it shoots - favorite powders in 44 Unique about 10-11 grains for plinking load over 240-245 cast swc
over Gas checked 245 SWC RCBS I use 2400 21.5 - full power but my Marlin likes it.

It's the second boolit from the left on the top row.

W296 and the LEE 310GC work well with my 77/44. Sure is a fun gun, and a whole heapin-lotta of power in a 22-sized rifle. Good luck.

Mine is a little older, FWIW, but it likes the Lee/Ranch Dog 265 (which casts around 277 grains from WWs for me).
It does OK with most bullets, but those do the best.

I don't know what you are sizing to, but I find I have to size most bullets to .431.

A bit of trigger tuning did more good than anything.

fatnhappy, printed and sent me a few targets to use. :)

my 2400 was so old it was in the square metal cans.

The square metal cans are somewhat old, but if they were stored properly, the powder inside should still be just fine.
If the powder has reddish brown dust in it, or smells acidic, it is decomposing. Another indicator that the powder is going bad is rust on the inside of the metal cans. There is a chance that the heat given off during decomposition could cause the powder to spontaneously combust. Keep that in mind.
However, if the powder is still gray/black in color, and smells like ether or acetone its still good.
