Hi All;
I am brand new to casting, and math has not been one of my stronger qualities over the years. I want someone to please check my results for an alloy before I melt it.
If I take 2.33 lbs of a 20 to 1 lead/tin alloy, and melt it with 1 lb of linotype, I project that I will wind up with a 4.7% tin, 3.6% antimony, 91.7% lead alloy.
Question 1: is my math somewhere in the ballpark?
Question 2: if my figures are correct, will this alloy make decent 9mm bullets for low to mid power rounds.
Thank you very much.
John
