And, can they be used in airguns (I'm thinking about buying a 9mm air rifle).

Do you have a Himmelwright mould in 9mm? I've only seen one of the Himmelwright boolits and it was a .430. I guess that one could use a .357wc and modify it slightly (putting the point in it).
From what I understand, they were designed and praised before the SWC.

The Himmelwright is an early design of what became the wadcutter, meant to punch nice clean holes in paper. It looks kind of like a semi-wadcutter (SWC) but that one actually came later.
