I own one one year older than I am. It was mfd in 1930 SN 50XXX. To take down bbl, you must screw magazine cap CW, rotate bbl 1\4 turn and remove bbl. I removed magazine cap pin, cleaned everything up. Reversed procedure to reassemble.
That's when I found out the cap pin could not be held in place. Tried it several times without success. As far as I can ascertain, the cap pin is not needed, it's only there to facilitate removal of cap if it too tight to remove by finger pressure. Without the cap pin in place, you can still remove bbl. Have fired several rounds thru it without any problems.
Would appreciate any comments. Tnx Carl
