OK I'll admit I am trolling a little but mostly to get as many opinions as possible!
I have one more gun I want to make, manufacture, restore and then I am going on the wagon,(even have intervension if necessary).
I asked on the carcanoitis post about making a carbine style rifle using an old GEW88 receiver I have.
The more I think about it the more I am inclined to do something else> (dies, molds) you know the drill!
I have always thought about making a 45 cal bolt action rifle and the GEW88 seems to be a good start as the magazine is almost the perfect size width wise and you wouldn't need to make too many changes to it legnth wise to hold the 45ACP clip.
I have been looking at barrels and cannot find one in rifle legnth in 45.
Do they make them?
If so whom?
I am a long way from even starting something like this and wanted as much input as possible.

Thanks,

Jim

I know Douglas Barrels will sell you an unturned blank in any cal, rifle or pistol, in lengths of 25, 27, and 29 inches. I think they will sell you contoured blanks in any caliber as well.
The other barrel makers will probably do the same as well. Good luck!!
