i have a lyman 452651 325gr can anyone tell me why there is a double crimp groove is it one for rifle and one for handgun ? thanks to anyone who can answer this Q. for me.

The design is meant for revolvers/rifles that need a shorter COAL length to function. It also serves with a longer COAL crimp groove to accommodate more space for a larger powder charge therefore enabling more potential for velocities at lower pressures. All this providing the intended firearm will allow for a longer COAL.
