Right place, right time, it's the only reasoning I can come up with for this one.
This is an unfired 1961 Marlin 39-A Golden! Bought it yesterday, 08-30-2010 for $377 out the door. Absolutely pristine condition, not even a rack rash. The bolt face doesn't have a mark on it.

I have wanted a Marlin 39A forever it seems, and I never expected to ever find a Golden of this age, in this condition, for this price. Piedmont called me and asked me to go to Tidewater Military Traders with him to look at milsurps, while he was looking at revolvers, I was buying this rifle! I may be going back 09-11-2010 for their auction, they have a Peter the Great Finn Mosin I wouldn't mind having.
