I guess this is a special project . It took over six months of my spare time .The rifle is in 30-06 Springfield , one in ten twist , and the whole build can be seen over at garagegunsmithing.com. I have not had any success with cast boolits yet but an upcoming project is a 250 grain paper patched boolit

heathydee,
Really great work!!
Is this your design?
Your avatar looks to be a DeHaas Chicopee Centerfire rifle. If so, what caliber is it?

Yes the old avatar was the Chicopee on Steroids in 30-30 . I posted that build over at homegunsmith.com

Nice job. And thanks for the link to the site. I see some familiar handles there. Very interesting.

Well done. Very interesting! I've not heard of the HRD design, your own? Purchased plans?

Yes elk hunter . My design with some inspiration from Bill Holmes . He designed a falling block with a one piece stock and underslung hammer but left out a lot of details . As drawn he did not show an extractor or a means of withdrawing the firing pin and I was not happy with the attachment of the stock . In addressing these issues a complete re-design resulted with the extractor in the "six o'clock" position working fore and aft and the hammer/trigger/safety mechanism mounted on the back of the receiver .

It works . A number of feral goats were taken on a recent hunting trip .
