So after a busy past two months I am finally able to get back and try out a few things I have been wanting to try.

The first was a 300 grain bullet using a 10mm case and having acquired a cannelure tool for testing I have been wanting to do that also.

So in the pic below:

.44 mag 300 gr. JHP made out of a 10mm case with dual cannelures for loading regular and long in my Redhawk

.44 Mag 255gr .JHP with the proper cannelure for loading it long and maximize the case capacity. The cannelure in this location puts it right at the end of my cylinder

.40 cal 200 gr. JSP with cannelure maximized for loading long in my 610 revolver

.40 cal 190 JHP with cannelure for loading to length in autoloaders and another mid length for revolver loads.

Looking good! Have you tried making a .44 300 grain bullet with a .40 S&W case?

Those look GREAT! Allways enjoy pics that's for sure. Love the two canalure look of the BIG 300. I have taken the 40 S&W to 300 grains as well ofcourse the bigger the HP the more lead is exposed at teh tip of the bullet. With a fairly small HP it will work just as well as the 10mm for a core. With a FN and the 40 S&W jacket and a Fn think there may only be about .100 or less worth of lead exposed at tip of bullet. Be sure and check diameter around the grove make sure it doesn't get to big.

Good shooting, let us know how they work out.

Good lookin' boolits!
That long JHP might be just the ticket for the 44/30-06 cartridge being proposed in the
group buy thread about AR-15s.
