I'm wondering if anyone ever measured the time difference between the sidelock black powder ignition and the inline ignition, when using percussion caps? Since one has to go around a 90* corner and the other doesn't, is there a significant delay for the sidelock over the inline?

If I were going to look at this scientifcally, it would matter the the travel distance of the hammer to the cap and how strong the spring is in delivery.

I know the lock time of the Savage ML10-II is 1.60 miliseconds. It's supposed to be the fastest (or one of the fastest) in the industry.
