Hello: I am new here and also fairly new to casting. I have besides some wheel weights some of the above solder paste that was scraped. I am trying to figure out if it would be good for me to cast for my .45acp and my .357? Or would it be better to mix it with wheel weights?

The response you will mostly receive is "Try it and see". Should be no challenge for the .45, but might not make it for hot .357 loads, unless you use a GC mold. I theeenk...

And how much of it do you have? If you don't have much of the paste, just mix it with the WW's and improve that alloy, and don't putz around with a little bit of an unknown.

Thanks for the reply, I have about 40 lbs of this stuff and 120 lbs of wheel wgts

I guess I can try blending the solder paste and the wheel wgths. Do you think a 50/50 blend of 92.5/5sn/2.5ag and wheel wghts is good?

Any ideal what 2.5 percent silver does to an alloy?

or you could mix a powdered form with sodium cyanide and leach your pound of silver out :)
