Finaly go time to take the #1 back out with some loads to try. Gun seems to prefer the heavy boolits, or maybe the powder works better with the heavy boolits.

First group is with the GB 360180 rnfp. Sized .360" w/lbt soft over 24.0gr WC680 and a Rem 71/2 primer. Velocity 2124fps

Then we have the GB 356627 swc in the bottom group. Sized and lubed and loaded like above. Velocity 2058fps. Not too bad.

Top group was loaded same way as the above, but with a MM 235gr boolit that looks alot like the 31141 slug. Velocity was 2003fps.

Probably could do better if I held the fore-end when I shoot, but I just tucked my left hand next to the right, so was only holding on with one hand. Might get rid of the verticle stringing with the 235gr boolit. Even though it starts slower, the noise it makes when it hits our 222yd gongs is quite noticably louder than the 180's

Anybody played with Bartletts surplus 4759 type powder? Wondering how it would work with the lighter 180gr boolits in the Max.

Good morning
Looks good ! I have always liked the longer pieces of brass.
I have all sorts of ideas for the 414 SM...

Looks pretty good...I'd be happy. What kind of sights/scope ya using? I shoot a "max" in a Contender pistol and its my go to for deer, although I've not tried cast in it yet. I'm getting 1800fps with a 180 Hornady and H110

Looks good to me. The Max is my all time favorite.

Have a 2 x 7 Burris on the gun. Plenty of power.

RockRat I've not tried the 4795 but you might give reloader 7. Try H110 with the 180's.

Try the Reloder 7 and 4227 with the heavy stuff, and I found a stout load of Reloder 7 fantastic with the 180's in my Encore barrel.
