I like cooking and sharing what I eat. We have used this recipe for years as a soup starter for vegetabale soup and chile. Just put a quart in a pot and add the rest to make what you want. Very quick and good.

Soup Starter
15 lb paste tomatoes quartered
3 green peppers (you can make one hot if you want)
2 stalks celery
1/4 cup salt
one cup of brown sugar

Run all vegetables through blender. Put in large pot bring to boil
and put in quart jars. Process in pressure canner at 15 lbs for 5 mins.

Sounds tasty and easy to do Hickory. I'm gonna have to try this.

Sorry for the misspelled word. I corrected it, it is now spelled quartered.

I'll add a little here as to how to make the vegetable soup and chilly.
For both brown a pound of hamburger, for the chilly just add a 16oz can of kidney beans. And for the vegetable soup add a package of frozen mixed vegetables.
Its quick and eazy.[smilie=l:

Forgive me Hickory, but you're saying to use 15lbs of paste tomatoes that are quartered? That my friend is a lot of tomatoes. I really like the idea of this soup starter, but I'm thinking I need reduced amounts of ingredients for a smaller batch.
