Saw a model 94 winchester this week-end in 32 win special. It was well used as in the bluing on the receiver is about gone from being carried. Couldn't get enough light in the bore to see what it looked like and the serial number was something like 1,7xx,xxx. Didn't see any cracks or major gouges in the wood either. Just wondering what this might be worth.

Thanks

Probably less than what being asked... unless the seller is somehow immune to the hysteria of '94...

I paid right at $400 for my 1950s carbine about a year ago. Not sure what they're going for now.

Three years ago, I paid $350 for a 99% 1959 vintage carbine. It came with a Lyman 66 screwed on. I bought it off the Griffin & Howe web site and they don't sell at discount. I suspect you couldn't touch one like it now for anything near that price.

Try 7 to 750 at current prices, the 32 specials are being touted as RARE.

I bougt one that was made in 1954 that is in the shape you describe for $275 about 1 year ago. As many that were made they are way over priced now. Mark

Griffin and Howe have another one listed for $475 that include a Lyman 66 sight. They don't have a photo on their web site, but you can call or email them. They are as honest as the day is long. www.griffinhowe.com

Saw a 94 win in 30-30 at a local gun show here in loosiana, dealer wanted get this, $700 for it. Whatever he's been smoking I want some. Maybe I should sell my post '64 model 70 match rifle and see how much I could get for it. Frank

Thanks for the replies. If anyone is interested the rifle is in Prineville, Oregon at the antique store on main street. They are asking $425 for it. As nice as it would be to have it I just am not in a position to buy another rifle now.

SOG has a 32 spec on the front of their ad this month, $795 for what I would describe as an average condition gun. In our area 30-30's outnumber 32 10-1 and I found it cheaper to buy a 30-30 and put on a 32 barrel. I gave $200 bucks for a 66 vintage 30-30 in about 90% condition and gave $30 for a barrel from GPC.
