Freechex III....again.

As risk of labouring an already well posted topic, yesterday I got a FC III speced to .303 Brit and can I just say a great big HOLY CR@P!? Fast is not the word.

I can not get 16 thou material here so to make my .303 checks I use a 2 ply system of 12 thou litho plate outer and a 4 thou soda can wall inner. The FC III just ate them up and spat out perfect checks in quick order. I reckon I was making 20 checks in 30 seconds easy and that was using a Rockchucker loading press and not an arbor press. Interestingly, the 4 thou material would jam in my older FC II unit (prototype) but the tolerance on the FC III are so fine it cuts clean as a whistle.

In addition the single layer of 12 thou material worked very well also and made checks suit for a true .30cal.

Freechex are fast and very efficient with your material. I can get 500 30 cal Freechex using the same amount of material it takes to make @380 with another brand GC maker. Also they are uniform not deformed.

I got on on the lee classic with the drop tube to catch spent primers, I just pull and let em drop until the tube is full

Sorry to the delay guys. Here is the FC III in my Lyman T mag press. The Rockchuckers are at my club. The T mag does OK but the operating lever is not best situated for this work. Charlie has always said that loading presses don't have the best mechanical advantage for making checks and I agree. An arbor press would be better.

I run the die up against a seating die and this works. This FC III is a prototype Charlie opened up from .30cal to .315 for .303 Brit for me. He won't be making press mounted from I can make out. Also, the FC III's are made for him by Lane Punch and are so freakin' hard he tells me he can't hone them!!!
