Hi,
I'm new to reloading cast bullets.
I was given a box of .357 Chadco Lead cast bullets 158 grs. made in Houston Tx.
The .357 cast bullet has a blue ring around the bullet.
Is this blue ring a gas check on the lead bullet?
The box has 158 gr.SWC stamped on the box.
I've loaded some bullets with 5.9 grains of Bullseye powder.
What do ya'll think of this load?
Thanks

Sounds like lube. Is it on the bottom or around the side? Bottom is where the gas check goes and lube goes in one or more groves around the bullet. Lube comes in different collors! Don't know about the load. You didn't say what case caliber you are loading for!

Hi
The blue lube goes around the groove of the bullet. The end of the bullet is just lead, like the rest of the bullet.
I've loaded the bullet for my security Six Ruger 357 mag. with 5.9 grains of Bullseye.
Thanks

The gas checks are copper or brass and are a cup that is crimped on the bottom of the bullet.

Welcome aboard! mick.
