I asked my longtime friend /gunstore owner to order me a Marlin 1895 GBL Guide gun. He calls his vendor and they tell him they have none and they are on back order.
I hear they are moving the factory, possibly to Ilion. NY. Does anyone know if this means I'll be waiting weeks, months or years for them to fill the backorder?
Kind of anxious to get one, any information would be appreciated. jmsj

They are moving the Marlin plant.

Took about 3 months IIRC to get my backordered stock when they weren't moving the plant so, who knows how long.

I've settled on getting a 1895G, then saw the GBL and want that. I should have the $ in a week, but sounds like it may be quite a while to get the GBL, or perhaps even a G.

Guess I'll stock up on dies, mold(s), etc., and get some boolits ready for the day, and hunt for now with my Ruger SBH .44

The Cabela's in Billings Mt had a couple of Marlin guide guns on the rack while I was there Sun. Don't know which models they were.

All the Marlin lever guns and M39 wil be made in Illion, NY. All other rimfires and Marlin bolt guns will be built in Mayfield, KY. The Headquarters will be with Remington in NC. The last 336 was made around the 4th of Aug and that shut down the history of the New Haven Marlins. New chapter is going to be written once the equipment is set up and running in NY (equipment was torn down right after the shift was complete according to some former Marlin workers over at MarlinOwners.com)

Thanks guys for all the replies.
I have not spoke to my friend this week to ask him about how long the wait might be. He's been a great friend for a lot of years and he sells guns to me at his cost plus shipping and tax. If he is unable to find one, I will check out some of your leads in case he can't get one

My 1895GBL (Brown) is on it's way from the Exchange -- long way from SD to Tampa FL.
