Has anyone ordered anything from Dan lately? I am getting ready to submit an order I noticed he changed his lead time to 'up to 4 months'

I ordered a mould in early May and it arrived in June.

I haven't ordered for awhile. Hopefully he is doing a smart business move, and giving a worse case scenario for delivery. I much prefer that, than a company that says they will deliver in two weeks, and deliver in six months or more.

You can see why he increased his wait time, as waksupi stated " I much prefer that, than a company that says they will deliver in two weeks, and deliver in six months or more."
This is probably the biggest question when ordering a mold, besides how much, how long.

It'll be worth the wait.

maybe he just got a bunch of orders. when I have ordered before he got it to me in 1/2 to 1/3 the time frame. best molds too.

Got one yesterday I ordered on the 10th, wondering if he has a vacation or something planned and that's why he stretched out the time frame, it was 2 to 3 weeks when I ordered and found it to be true.
Earlier this year when his turn times were somewhat longer I found he met or surpassed (meaning shorter) expectations.
Nice moulds too, all of them.

I've bought several molds from MM and they all arrived sooner than his notice, and were always exactly what I ordered. His "design your own" website, good prices, relatively quick delivery and excellent quality are so far ahead of his competitors that I am astonished that no-one has copied him.

Except for some restrictions on his designs (e.g. his molds are all single cavity, and there are some profiles he can't produce), he would make our Group Buys obsolete.

Dan makes 2-cavity moulds as well as 3-cavity (iron only) ! My last mould was a 2-cavity brass !

Dan's tools are EXCELLENT QUALITY, and a delight to use. All have arrived ahead of schedule, too.

I asked him what he thought the time frame would be on a mold I ordered bout two weeks ago and if it was going to be a long time to give me a refund
He refunded me at P/P before the night was over
must mean he would have been awhile
well I will just have to wait till afta the hunting season or the house build gets done

He does make 3 cavity aluminum too, have three of them all dandies. The last one I received (just this week) was the first gas check mould I got, by far THE best gas check mould as far as fit I have ever had, they snap right on and fit beautiful. Right on spec too all three cavities.

Yes, do contact him. This is VERY unusual for MM. I suspect your order was lost somewhere along the line.

Well I emailed DAN at MM and he responded that I waited to long to email and that PayPal lost the order. I should have my NEW MOLD in a week or so.8-)

I received an email back from Dan, he says I am in the mold queue but has no definitive answer as to where. It all depends on when weather and inventory.

I went to his webpage based off the recent thread and I've been playing all morning with the different boolt designs!

Better escape while you still can. I got 20 or 30 different designs in my 'some day' folder.....

I've gotten 2 molds from him. They're both exactly what I ordered and I got both of them in less than 1/2 the time as the website stated. Make sure that you check everything, cuz he'll make you exactly what you spec out!

MMs are 1st rate! I'll echo others.... do your homework within the design program! What you order is what you get. With hunting season, word of mouth orders piling up and construction before winter sets in I'm sure Dan is telling it like it is about delays.

I got my new mold yesterday so Dan must have worked on it over the weekend.

I will get to try it out this weekend.

Wow! That is a slug. Makes the big H&H case look not so big. I hope it makes round holes when you put it on paper.

I hope so too. The mountain molds software says it is max for 1 in 12. The greenhill formula says I have a little wiggle room to spare. The miller formula says I am golden even at subsonic velocities. And 40 below zero.

Loaded some to about 1000fps and another batch to about 1900. No signs of tumbling all the way to 200yds. Plan to do some more and do some serious work on paper from the bench. Impromptu wound ballistics testing with clay river banks indicate impressive results. Absolutely no problems with feeding at all in my rifle. Feeds better than the lyman 375449 believe it or not.

I have yet to order a mould from MM, but I hope to before too much longer. Does anyone have any pics of his moulds? I'd like to see some of what other members have ordered.

I keep meaning to order a mould from him, then I get sidetracked by a group buy.

I would rate the quality of the product as similar to the early NEI molds. What kind of bullet are you looking at?
