Looking at starting casting 9mm for semi-auto pistols. I'm curious to hear what kind of mold everyone likes?:?:

Lee 122 grain truncated cone. Moulds costing several times as much money of similar design shoot about as well, but in terms of value received per dollar spent--all of the Lee autopistol boolit designs are first-rate.

If your not concerned with clean cut holes The Lee 125-2R 6 banger mold is the way to go.

Part Number is: 90457 this is a standard lube groove design that shoots to beat the band in every 9 I've put it in!

Not a fan of tumble lube designs, the little "lube" ridges are to easy to shear off during seating.

A single 6 banger will keep you in plenty of boolits real fast! A pair of them will terrorize a pair of anybody's 20 lb pots!

Lyman #356242 @120 grains and RCBS 09-124-CN @124 grain. Both feed flawlessly and cast with WW at .357". The 242 is a round nose with two lube grooves and the RCBS is a truncated nose with one lube ring and two wide bands. Accurate in Baretta, Luger and 952 and in 38 special as plinkers. LLS

I use ther lee 120 gr TC and the 125gr RF bullets sized either 356 or 357 depending upon which 9 mm I am loading for.

hands down most accurate bullets ive shot are the 115 and 120 round nose rcbs. Avoid the one with the shoulder though as its not been near as good for me.

My favorite is my group buy design (9x135gr "Slippery"), because I really like 135gr bullets in the 9mm, and because I really like the nose design that feeds in everything I've ever tried it in. The nose design is really the critical part for good feeding, and you can get the same nose shape in the Saeco #115 design:

(Don't look at the line-drawing picture in the corner - that's something Midway cut-and-pasted from the Lyman cast bullet handbook. Look at the shape of the cavities in the picture - the nose is a round nose, but it's more pointed than most, and it feeds like butter.)

I've been using an Ohaus 122 gr. TC for 25 years. It is a copy of the Lyman 356402. Absolutely flawless feeding and lives up to the 9MM reputation for accuracy.

I've used numerous different designs over the years but have also settled on Lee's 356-120-TC in a 6 banger mould as the best. It shoots very accurately, as accurate as any other design, and feeds in everything including subguns. I cast them out of WWs + 2% tin, size .358 and lube with Javelina.

I'll be shooting them thru a KKM barrel in a G17. It measures .356. Thanks for the info!
