The 270 & 315 grain semi wadcutters. I am mailing off some samples of the 310 to 45 2.1 to draw up. Once we get something to look at, I'll post up the Group Buy.

The 270 needs to be re-designed, there're things about it we don't like. Once 45 2.1 is done with it, I'll post up a Group Buy for it too.

Maybe some here are interested?[smilie=1:

Sounds great!

I got to thinking last night (yeah, I know, dangerous) about a .44 Keith in 275 grn weight and another in 300 grn weight. Maybe run them sometime down the road after the heavier .45 Keiths are run. Are those weights in the .44 practical? What do you think?

Just thinking out loud here, but would like some feedback.

We've had a 265 gr. GB and a current 290 gr. GB for the 44. They are not Keiths, but what more do you want. A nice FAT 200 gr. PB and GC would be nice though. The LEE 200 gr. RF is fine, but it doesn't cast large enough for some of the firearms that are out there, besides WW are more difficult to get and GCs are pricy now.

Bob-

I agree that we need the Fat 200-210 grn RF slug. Back in early July I PM'd you about that very design in GC form and offered to Honcho a run of these once the current Group Buy frenzy had slowed down. You responded to me that you'd work on the design a little while things cooled down. I took that as we're just waiting to run the Fat .44 GC 200-210 RF boolit.

As far as my above post I really like the Keith designs for my wheelguns and just wanted to test the waters on going a bit heavier with a Keith design.

Matt,

I'll run 'em. At an off-hand guess, I'd say sometime in mid-next year though.

I too like the Keiths, can ya tell? :)

Never would have guessed that you were a "Keith Man." ;)

Mid next year works just fine for me and my wallet thanks you for the rest! But, more importantly, thanks for seeing it through on all these great wheelgun boolits!

Please don't change to much about the 270! You might change what works so well with it. Seems perfect the way it is.

Dr. A,

I wouldn't worry too much. Go to the 'There Here" thread and look at what people are saying about the 454424 we did.

Any word on the heavy 45's.

None yet. 45 2.1 is having CAD issues. He'll get the drawings done ASAP.

Be patient, it's worth it.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Tonight I was thinking it would be great to have basically a 429421 scaled up to a 275-ish grain 45.

I would also be interested in a 300 gr or so Keith type .44 mould and a light weight would be good for plinking too.

I'll sign up for the 270 grain .45,
Jeff.

I'm in for the 270 .45 if it doesn't stray far from the RCBS 270 SAA. That one is truly hard to beat in my book.

Catshooter,

Any word on the 45-270 Keith?

Thanks

StrawHat,

Looks to me like we're gonna have to wait for awhile yet. I think people are out o' money. Look at the .44 GB, the response is hardly overwhelming.

But we will do it, probably, just be patient.

If I can send funds it'll let me get started pacing and watching for the mailman that much sooner. Kidding. Really looking forward to the 270 gr.

A heavy 45? Keith design? I have a Catshooter 454424 and it is just the medicine in a 45LC. In my alloy it weighs 260gr and is a fine shooter. If you go even heavier, I'm gonna need a bit more sturdy wheelgun. Ah HA! my excuse to buy another gun and mould too. Sounds OK to me.

If you haven't tried the RCBS .45 270 SAA you don't know what you're missing. Dave Scoville really hit a home run with that one.

The Catshooter 454424 outshoots it. The scoville boolit needs improved.

I'm wondering if this will be plain based or gas checked?

Thanks

im up for both of them but would prefer the heavy to be a gas checked bullet to shoot in rifles a little better. Ill tell you a design to look at. The rcbs 300 swcgc has been consistantly the best shooting heavy in just about any .45 ive shot it in!

I too would like both PB and GC in the heavy bullet.:Fire:
