I just recently purchased an older savage 99f 243. I am curious to know what its worth and where i need to begin on selling this rifle. everything seems to be in good condition. if anyone knows anything about this rifle or what its worth i would appreciate the response

Should your 99F in 243 have serial less than 1(one)million, and condition 90% or better, should sell fast @600-700...later one with tang safety, deduct 100-150.... Onceabull

For my own part......if I had a Savage 99 in one of the modern calibers, I would likely retain it--and take it out for air (and lead) frequently.

My mom just got a .243 Savage 99F at a pawn shop in Western Montana for $450. It has a scope on that is way too big and there is a slight crack in the buttplate. She looked for one locally for over 3 years. Most of the 99's locally are sitting on the shelves for $650-1,200 DOC. (Note that I said sitting on the shelves...not moving).

Mine has become my favorite hunting rifle. I picked it up for $400 in a trade. It was 98% or better. To some degree I wish it was a .300 sav, but .308W will do nicely.
