Just received 3 of the 4 molds I ordered from MP Molds in the mail today. The workmanship of these molds has exceeded all expectations. They are quite literally works of art. To say I am very pleased is an understatement. I am quite sure they will cast as well as they appear and will determine that shortly.

If any of the Cast Boolit brethren would like to give themselves a treat, go to the MP Molds website. There are molds currently in inventory. Miha is a world class artisan, and he is very easy to do business with.

You seem to be surprised. You shouldn't be. There are probably about a thousand or more of us that have said the same thing. :)

I think I'm safe in saying a good many of the members here own more than one MP mold. I have one on the way myself. In fact, I think it's the first mold type he ever sold here at CB. That good old 45 HP. Now, if only we could get him to include some Bullplate..... I know. enjoy Mike

Surprised? No. I said that they exceeded all expectations (the online pics don't do them justice). What was a surprise to me is that they are in stock and available.

Yup, he seems to be ramping up production pretty good. It is nice to see when someone comments on their desire for a Mihec mold that he chimes in with "I have some on the machine right now, will be ready in x days"

And they are true works of art.

I had a small issue with mine, lost the set screw, asked him where I could get another. His reply was to ask my address, he would send me some...speachless

The stuff that Miha ships (small white bottles) with the molds is the same color as Bull Plate. And, as far as I am concerned, works just as well.

In fact, I am believing that it's the exact same product. Miha just can't call it that.

I have some bottles that say Bull Plate, and a BUNCH (cause I have quite a few Mihec molds) of the white bottles. I'm using the white bottles first.

And, let me also chime in on the Mihec quality. AMAZING doesn't even begin to describe the quality.

I like the way the brass molds run (vs the aluminum molds)...

Now, if we can just get Swede to start running brass.

We've seen some great handgun bullet designs and the quality if the molds is outstanding. I'm hoping to see him offer some of the classic rifle designs some day.

speaking of MP molds got me to check out his web site
naturally one thing led to another and i have one coming
should be here next week
I was wondering and I even asked Mihec
how do you all think this would do in a rifle say 358 win
359-640 Hollow point mold

Golly! Do we think that might work OK in a 35 Whelen? All the more reason for me to get one. Gun Show here this weekend...

Wow, that is one yummy looking mold! I just built a 35 Whelen on a Marlin XL7 action to shoot lead. This bullet looks like it would be a great choice for that rifle.

OK, how do I get M-P Molds??? Their web site does not work as they have nothing in stock?
I have e-mailed the owner countless times who never answers my questions?
He says he has a mold in stock, but its not the size or caliber I asked for?
They redirect me to forum buys that are closed?
I have been trying to buy 6, 2 cavity H-P Molds, with no luck at all.

You sign up for a group buy and wait. That's the only way to get one besides buying a used one.

dadnova, welcome to CastBoolits,

MP is not a store, he builds molds for people that sign up at the following link. He does on occasion have a few over runs from a group buy so you would need to follow the threads for the molds your interested in.

Active Group Buy's (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?55-Active-Group-Buy-s)

His molds are well worth the wait to get them, Miha is the undisputed master mold maker and they are works of art in brass.

I know there is a nice 40cal 6c group-buy coming, 2 weights available, pins for 2 different hollow points and pins for a solid flat nose....I liked it so much I got on the buyer list...most expensive mould for me so far, but with the option for solid or h-p in the same mould, 6c, & brass I pulled the trigger....I only have a Delta Elite to feed them into, but might have to change that!

Remmy, if you're talking about the one I'm honchoing its a 4-cavity, not 6. Fyi.

Mihec is a member on this forum, you can message him thru here. He also has a forum on here where he list what he has available in stock. I contacted him thru here to get in on a 9mm group buy that had just closed and while I was at it asked him about a 45acp hp mold. He put me on the group by and shipped out the 45 mould as he had it in stock. Just got it in today!!! Beautiful! !!

You're just teasin', aren't you! I got all excited, and went to the website, and EVERYTHING is "out of stock". *grumble, grumble*[smilie=b:

If there's a specific mold that Miha would have made recently, but it's not showing on his web site......................

You should send him an email, explaining what you are looking for.

He's so busy that his web site isn't anywhere near up-to-date, but he will likely have a LOT of molds in stock.

In fact, he puts up list of what he has, every now and then.
In fact, here's the most recent one he published:

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?184164-Mp-Molds-Mihec-molds-on-hands-Februar-2013

Maybe he has what you are looking for. Even if it's not on his list, email him.

I am guessing he is really busy, I emailed him last week and have not herd back from him.

I've been waiting for a Group Buy that reached quota over a year ago... I'm assuming he is really busy because he acknowledged an e-mail (without answering the question) over a month ago, and has not answered a recent PM either. My friend and shooting buddy Dale53 has gotten several of his moulds and swears by him and his products, but I am getting a little frustrated with the wait. :groner:

Froggie..... believe me when I say you are not alone in this. You've heard the old adage: Good things come to those that wait. Well, all I can say is: It happens when it happens, now please hurry up and get it on the production list.... PLEASE.

Oreo

Yep. Get on the list. That's about all that can be done.

Truth is Miha has to know by now what peoples' complaints are. But the simple fact is he's demonstrated that he's going to do what he pleases and when. When you're the best in the world you get to do that and still have customers line up and wait for your whim. There's no point in wringing your hands over it. Get in line and wait or buy from someone else. Those are the options and no amount of fussing is going to change it.

I am getting a little frustrated with the wait. :groner: Froggie

I just recently received two four cav's from Miha that from conception to the molds in my hands was just short of two years but most aren't that long. The wait is frustrating almost to being painful & ready to get fitted for a straight jacket. Been that way for each mold I bought from him but with each one all of that was completely forgotten the day they arrived. They are so worth the agony of the wait I can't hardly wait until I'm miserable with anticipation again.

If there is an active group buy for a mold you want I highly recommend you get signed up for it before the buy closes. If there is a closed buy get signed up for any possible extras and keep your fingers crossed & check your email everyday, you could, might, possibly get lucky.

If you feel that you *must* have a certain design within 6 months or a year, you are better either going to Tom at Accurate Molds, or hitting Midway/Bass Pro, etc., and buying Lyman/Saeco, or hunting up a used mould. (Just make sure you check "The Big 3" first. (MP, NOE, HM2)

If there is a design you would like to have and are capable of signing up and then comfortably forgetting about it until you get an email bill for payment, then you should by all means do a Group Buy.

I've done it that way 7 times and don't regret any of them, other than I've aged considerably while waiting. If you're disappointed in the mold, you certainly won't have trouble selling it.
