Anyone have a good accurate hunting load for 30WCF with 173 #311041GC (mine weigh in @ 177gr using wheel weights) using 748 & CCI 200 primers.
I just got into casting after reloading since about 1980.
Also if anyone can give me any data on the same powder/boolit combo for my '03.
Thanks
Paul

In the 30-30, 36 grains of 748 would be about right. Work DOWN from that load for accuracy, and don't go below that accuracy point with this powder. 748 is a high deterrent powder, line 296. If the load appears to be to hot for you personally, switch to H380 at the same loading, or drop the charge down to around 27 grains using H335, and then working slowly up to an accuracy point. For the 06, 748 is too fast in order to keep the pressure on up there to burn it correctly. Consider going to a stick powder for this case size, bore size, to keep the velocity under 2400. ... felix
