Until now, all I've had to do was smelt & refine the accumulation of lead into ingots. I just started casting my own. That's because my full time casting staff up & moved out to the outdoors man's paradise, Wyoming.
First up has been 450gr slugs from a Lee 90281 mold. After reloading the 12ga hulls I got the results I had hoped for. Good enough for home defense/recreational shooting. At least my steel buffalo thought so.
Follow that exercise, I stumbled into a pair of Lyman molds in .36cal & .44cal. Those will be loaded up for #000 Buckshot & perhaps a duplex load with both combined. 6ea .36cal pellets work out to about 1oz while just 3 .44cal balls come in just under 1oz. I suspect those will make the steel buffalo shed a tear as well.
Here's what I've done so far. That casting stuff requires a lot of patience.

For the record, I take blame for Dk17hmr turning out the way he is.
