I have Stevens double barrel that had about 2 inchs cut off the barrel. The sight was replaced but the rib between the barrels is hollow. Looks like they put some rubber cement in it. It did not fill the hole well. Anyone know what you can fill the hole with?

JB Weld works great for that. Two or three applications work best because it will shrink down some as it cures. When you're done, it will look like it was made like that.

I hate to admit that in my younger days I had a wad stick near the end of the barrel of an LC Smith. Put another round behind it and opened the last 4" of the left barrel up like a cartoon cigar. I digress! I cut the gun down to 19". I cleaned and fluxed the barrel end between the ribs and soldered it with 60/40 plumbers solder, and filed it flat. Looked pretty good and has held the past 20 years!

I stuffed in a wad of steel wool that was soaked with soldering flux. I warmed the barrels with a propane torch. Then I used my lead pot to fill it over full with wheel weight alloy. Dress off the excess with a file.

I capped mine with Accuraglass.

Did you color the Accuraglass or JB Weld before applying it?
