Were all Winchester 94 in .375 Angle Eject?
Were they all drilled and tapped for scope mounts?
TIA,
Duke

No the early ones like mine were still top eject.

In all the years of buying and selling these,I'd say the ratio of top eject to the angle ejectors seen in 375 W is 20-25:1.. the top ejectors are not D&T'ed for scope mounting.. Onceabull

Hello
What I have been told is that NONE of the 375 Big Bores were angle eject

BUT I googled it up and read this

I would LOVE to find one in AE

Question #1 is No. All angle ejects should be drilled and tapped for a scope mount but not a receiver sight. You need to be after about SN 5,300,000 or the 6th model receiver. These new receivers will be the return of forged steel also. If the SN is prefixed with BB on a 375cal it should be a top eject with early 375 angle ejects prefixed with AE. Just look for the lowered right side ejection port, that's a dead give away.

Looks like the dead giveaway is a high stock comb.

Mine's the early .375 BB w/ Top Eject, didn't realize they made AE's in .375. I've seen AE Big Bores in other calibers, even fondled a .307 with a Monte Carlo stock recently. Didn't realize there were so many variations.

the comb is found on the xlr models.
the ae part of the serial number and the lowered ejection port is the give awy.

Thanks RFR. I'm looking for a couple that can be scoped up. My iron sights days are way over.

Duke you'd better scope it with some generous eye relief as those babies set back a bit when you touch them off. Great round in a lever gun.

you want the later ae models for sure then, they come d/t for a scope.
williams also made/makes a peep sight that screws in the rear two holes on the top of the frame.

I have no issues with my 94 with a peep sight and fiber optic front sight.

I wouldn't either if I could still see.

I use 10 grs of unique, very mild, and it will shoot thru a white tail.

Thanks. What weight and what velocity would that be please?

You could do the Burris Fastfire and the mount instead of a scope. You have to do some minor fitting to make it work for the Big Bore. That way you can keep it top eject.

i recall my dad popping off 2 mulie bucks with [was] his [mine now] marlin 375 and factory ammo
and don't recall the internal damage as being too bad.
i use the lyman 375449 in both the win and marlin sized to 379, in 375 cases.
find a decent load in the 15-1600 fps velocity and you'll be fine.
it will be a flatter shooting deeper penetrating 44 mag.

2-7 Redfield should do the job for not much more than peeps. Nice glass on my latest levergun, isn't catalogued as a compact but it is, and a good one @ that. I can only afford so many compact Leupolds!
