I am not interested in scavanging lead WWs. A local salvage yard and Rotometals enable me to put together 94-4-2 L-A-T alloy for about $1.75/pound.
Clean easy to handle alloy agents and a reasonable price. My 32-20 120 grain bullets will cost about 4 cents without a gc, cheap enough. Considering a plain base and max 1400 fps or a gc and max 1800 fps in a new Miroku Winchester 92.
Is 94-4-2 a good blend for casting? The agents are roofing sheet flashing recycled but never used, Rotometal Super Hard, some tin. The larc article says this alloy should be good for a BHN 12 or 13. It appears similiar to clean WWs.
Anyone see a potential problem with this alloy?
Should I bother with a little arsenic from magnum shot for my 444 bullets and hardening?
