I assume you mean the diameter of the bullet seating punch. Mine is .4195

I wanted to know, before buying one if a .430" bullet would make it through this die cause according to my chamber cast and bore slugging, I would need a .430 bullet.

I shoot my 1881 Vetterli and have 75 brass I made from 348 Winchester cases. I shot a Lee 310 grain gas check designed bullet in it all the time. Buffalo Arms offers the 38mm cases pre-formed if you want to purchase them. I size my bullets to .429 as my rifle's bore is.428. I don't use a gas check for this cartridge they are not needed. If you want to use your magazine I suggest trimming your cases to 42mm as you will need it for the Lee bullet, set over all length to about 2.200". The Lee dies are designed for a heeled bullet as the original cartridge was designed for this type of bullet. I shoot the Lee bullet with a large rifle primer and 21 grains of Accurate Arms 5744 powder. You should start out at a lower level and work up to what your rifle needs. There's a good article here on this forum with pictures shooting triple seven substitute powder as it was originally a black powder cartridge. CH4D Custom will also make dies for you for this caliber that's what I am using. After fire forming you only need to neck size the cartridge, I use a 44 mag sizer for this. Hope this helps.

How do you apply a light crimp to this bullet?
