Team.

I posted my Lyman 225462 double cavity to Erik for hollow point conversion on one cavity yesterday. Looking forward to the end results.

I bought the mould a few years for no reason other than it was ridiculously cheap including the top punch. Being a RN pattern I never considered it appropriate for small game use and lean more on my 225415 for rabbits and hares. The HP conversion will change this situation I am sure.

I have a goal of 24-2500fps out of my .223 with ACWW. I presently get 2100fps with the 225415 without issue. Imagine that! 2500fps with a HP in 10BHN alloy. NASTY.

Keep us posted on this one Jeff. It looks very similar to my Bator boolit.

If this is your first mold sent to Erik you'll be quite pleased when it is returned. I have had Erik work on several molds for me and each were perfection, Erik is a craftsman and a pleasure to do buisiness with.

10 BHN + 2500 fps + HP + bunny = :holysheep

You don't seem to be a believer in leaving some for the coyotes huh? You won't be hanging these bunnies from the fence post!

I have that mold and hollow point them on a lathe. I shoot them at a little over 2000 fps from a 22-250 with good accuracy. Any speeds over that, and I lose accuracy and start to get leading, with ACWW. As luck would have it, I have never needed more velocity for good expansion on groundhogs, which is the only animal I hunt with 22 cal. centerfires.
I bet you'll like those hollow points.
