Anyone know where I can get a crane retention screw for the model 85 Taurus SS. I've checked Numerich, Brownells, Midway etc. I will call Taurus customer service tomorrow, but haven't heard anything good about them yet.

If Taurus can't help, try to figure what it looks like and I can make one. Metric threads and all. That's if it isn't a propriatary (read weird-goofy)thread.........

Ditto, sounds like a fair trade. :bigsmyl2:

In my current condition that could be a fatal trade, but what a way to go. Cactus farmer, if I can't find one I'll let you know. Be advised it's a small one. I will try some screws in the threads to determine the size, etc. Thanks. They're not letting me do much right now, so these puttering jobs suit me.

I'd bet it's a metric and a 2-3mm with a .5 pitch. Be careful with the trying old screws......threads get buggered up real easy, then it's a bear to figure out the size.

Don't forget the yoke screw contains a retaining pin and spring.
