My old Vaquero measures 1.704" and I shoot the big Lyman 452651 and the LBT 335 gr WLNGC with no trouble.

I have 2 Blackhawks. One stainless without the lock and one that I bough march 15th with a lock and they both will take a cartridge with an OAL of 1.725 with ease. The new one with a cartridge in the chamber shows a total length of 1.758 inches overall measuring from the casehead to the end of the cylinder.
The newer ones doesn't have a recessed chambers for the rims as I am sure you know.
