Red Dot scope mounts.

Now that I have the Ultra Dot on order, I started to thinking! I ordered it because I can put it on the Ruger SBH (already tapped, somewhat) and the Ruger Mark 1 for trials to see what I think.
Then I started thinking it would be nice to have the option to place one on the Ruger 45LC if I wanted to use one on it.

So, who makes the best weaver style (steel) base for the Ruger BlackHawk? I realize I will have to have the BlackHawk tapped for the base.
I just don't want a piece of **** hanging on the revolver. I want something that fits it?

NOT to hijack the thread, but same question for my SW 629. i ordered my ultradot last friday and got it monday, but need to have my 629 drilled and tapped and a weaver type base put on it. thanks

Well thats nice for you, but I would prefer mine to be made of Stainless Steel. Does anyone know of a great manufacture with one for the Ruger BlackHawk 45LC.

I have a dual dovetail stainless mount made by Millet that has withstood some 1000 shots from a stainless .45 Ruger, don't know if it's still made, came with a set of rings too.
I'm thinking Leupold and Burris might make these too. Google would be your friend.

Of course this will require dovetail rings rather than Weaver, but these types of mounts are stronger than hell and should hold up to recoil just as well if not better than a Weaver base, I don't believe you'll find a Weaver type base for this that is steel.
