I may soon have a Lyman 429348 bulet mold that casts a .44 Cal 180 grain WC bullet. I'd like to use this in my Model 24 for plinking @ 50 to 150 feet...I looked in my old Lyman loading manuals and no load is listed with this bullet. I was thinking of 6.0 grains of Bullseye...to get about 950 FPS MV... was wondering, can anyone suggest a good load?

Thank you...

Waking an old thread... Were you successful?
I have read about the 429438 with 5.5 gn Bullseye in a .44 Special case.

I've got the 429348 mold but haven't loaded the boolits yet. It would be interesting to see how they perform. I might try using the same charge with N320, that is readily available in my location. This would be out of a 6" S&W 629.

Waking an old thread also. I've acquired 2 of these molds and have tried several loads looking for accuracy at 50yards. The best so far has been with 7.5 g of AP50 (w231) but 10inch group from a Buckhorn SA revolver isn't good enough. I can group a 240g swc pushed by 10g of Unique in 4.5 inchs off a rest. Ive got no leading with the alloy and lube and the boolits are punching beautiful crisp holes. I have Unique ,2400,AP70,AP50, Any suggestions are welcome.
