Found a mould listed in an old Lyman cast bullet handbook dated about 1973. Mould is #412174 Listed as 260 grs #2 alloy. This looks like what I have been looking for to cast about 15bhn and use in my 41 magnums. Has anyone seen one of these or know if they are still available?

Lyman 412174 is no longer in production but similar molds are available from Lee, RCBS, Seaco, and probably more mold makers.

Giz:
I have been eyeballin that mould for years. I have been waiting for it to show up on flea-bay.
So far, It ain't happened. If one shows up, you better beat me to it. I think it would be a dandy.

PS, we probably aren't the only ones.

Was originally listed @ 260 grains for the Ballard 40-70 or 40-75. Not in production for some time now, Would probably work in the 405 WCF as well as it was also listed as casting at .414. Some more info is available in Cartridges of the World by Frank Barnes. LLS

Thanks for the info guys. I thought it might be for a .40-something rifle in BP, but could not find what it was used in in any of my Lyman literature. Littlejack, you are probably right about that. LOL Be nice if we could get one of our mould makers to build some of them. I bet they would sell like hotcakes.
