For those of you who cast for glock 9mm. What is your OAL? I have a lyman RN 120gr 356242 mold and i am coming up with 1.1ish Does that sound about right for a glock? What are you glock guys seating at?

My records say 1.132 for a 124 grain cast lead round nose boolit. I use a Jarvis barrel and a Storm Lake barrel in my Glock 9's though, so I don't know if this is applicable or not. Hope that helps.

So i should be close enough. I got my glock today and it seems to sit fine in the barrel. My sig on the other hand it seems to seat it self in there at that oal, i have to get something to push it out. Oh well, at least it works with the glock. Thanks.

I'm actually thinking about pick up a Jarvis for a Glock myself. Also looking at KKM.

1.132 - is that your max OAL? I was hoping to be able to load heavier stuff to ~29mm (~1.142) and still have a bit of room for margin of error.

No, I don't believe so, that is just the C.O.L. that was used for this boolit in the Speer manual where I got the data. My Jarvis barrel is a work of art. Chamber tolerances are tighter than my Storm Lake barrel, but not so much that it is a problem. For the money, I don't believe there is a better barrel out there than Storm Lake. It was about the same price as a Lone Wolf barrel, but to my mind much better quality, at least based on the ones I have eyeballed in a gunshop, same for the KKM. I only have one Storm Lake barrel, that for my Glock 26, but I am very impressed with the fit, finish, chamber tolerances and price. I got mine from Glock World. Check them out, I don't think you would be sorry.

By the way, since this is a new barrel, should i shoot some jacked rounds through it to break it in first or is it good to go with the lead first? Its a lone wolf barrel, and everything about it seems "rough"

There's an older thread here that looks to be a goodun. It's on my to-read list:
9mm Cast boolit questions (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=9454)

One of the early posts mentions twists and he's right. Glock is ~1:10 while Storm Lake is ~1:16.

Just wanted to post this link in case others may be interested.

As far as shooting jacketed first, I could not say. When I get a new gun or barrel, I usually shoot six rounds or so of factory ammo just to make sure everything is right, then shoot cast exclusively. (Although my Smith 686 has not seen anything but cast reloads, I am proud to say). Good luck with your new barrel, let us know how it works out for you.

I might run a box through it just to break it in.

You may want to read up on firelapping. Also it may be best to not shoot jacketed out of it as iirc guys go to great lengths to de-copperize their barrels before switching from j-words to lead. No reason why you can't break it in with reloads anyway.

I highly doubt 50 rounds will hurt it.

Anyone else have any recommendations for breaking in a new barrel?
