I just wanted to express my gratitude to those of you that have responded to my posts and those that posted your own insights on the 38-55. It sure made it easy for me to get going.
The new Cowboy (conversion) is here! I've been shooting it every chance I get with some very promising results.

Notice my friend's other 38-55 CB in the background.

Getting ready to take on the 300 yard dinger offhand. It took me 4 or 5 tries to get on it. My pard hit it two out of three times.

Time to repaint and do it again.

Seems to be right at home in the woods too.

There was a spot on a stump that needed some ventilation. Here's the three shot group I walked up on.
The Lee 379-250 RF shoots well both as cast and sized to .379" The Ranch Dog TLC 379 235 RF is showing some real promise too. Everything feeds and cycles beautifully, even the unsized .380"+ stuff in Winchester Brass.
Thanks again!
