In a box of odd ball stuff someone gave me there was an old REM-UMC .38spl cartridge. I pulled the bullet which was stubbern coming out and it had a steel core.

At the base of the bullet the copper jacket came down further than the core and had chalky filler in it. What was this round intended for. Thanks FB

I think what you have may be the 38 spl MP (metal piercing ) round. Does it weigh about 110 grs??
Remington listed a 110 gr MP @ 1330 fps for the Hiway Master. Winchester had a MP round also but it was 150 gr @ 1065 FPS.

I just weighed it @ 114gr sound like you got. I don't know anything abought MP rounds but would have expected it to be more pointed but it was a round nose. fecmech, thanks for the info that one just had me curios. FB
