Has anyone experimented with 8700 in the following and with what start load with the heavier boolits available?

.308 Win
.35 Whelen
.35 Rem
.375 HH

You cannot get enough 8700 in any of those cases to be a problem pressure wise without using a 500gr slug and seating it about 3/4 of an inch into the case. Load to 100% density behind the boolit or just mild compression and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Accurate also recomends a magnum primer for that powder.

I acquired most of a pound of that powder from an estate sale several years ago; I have yet to find any published data for any cartridge that I'm ever likely to own. I have considered doing just exactly what Wiljen suggested, because you can't get enough of it into the case of anything I own to cause pressure excursions.

I'll probably shoot it up with cast boolits once I ultimately return to the States.
