Probably here somewhere but thought this would be faster to get the info, I've been melting down soft lead of different variaties but comes out harder than what I started with, is there a way of making it softer, am using the soft lead for bullet cores, would like it as soft as possible.

IF you are melting "soft" lead, regardless of where it comes from, it shouldn't harden after melting. You can heat your cores up in an oven & let them air cool to "soften" them even more.
In addition to what fredj338 said you can soften or anneal them even more by leaving them in the oven to cool. Maybe that is what he ment...........maybe not.
