Any thoughts on this mold?
I found one on ebay with a pretty good price.

Buy it. I don't have one, but it is RCBS, and a good design.

I already got it. It was $47 shipped with handles. The description said it may have light rust on the exterior but the cavities were clean. I hope it works well with my new Kart barrel I am having put in my RIA.

I know Midway has the same mold new right now on sale for that price, but then you would have to include shipping and handles, that could bump it up closer to 90-100.

You got a good deal. I was thinking about bidding on that mold. I'm still holding out for a different type in 4 cav. Don't really "need" it, so I can wait. enjoy Mike

I've had that mold for several years and the Lyman 452460. The boolits are really hard to tell apart when they get mixed up and they load and shoot the same so when I cast I use both molds and make a pile of boolits and size, loob and load without trying to separate them. Good boolits and good shooting.

I like that mould.

too bad NOE doesn't have it, a 4c or 5C would be nice.

So, Blammer - Why don't we see if we can get Swede to make a 452460 clone?? That's the one I really want. 4 or 5 cav's would be great!! I'm gonna have to look into this. enjoy Mike

captaint,

My DW Ptman7 shoots into 1-1.2" @ 25 yds with 452460 at .452 over 3.5 titegroup
in new Starline brass.

I plan on using titegroup.
Whats your vel. on those?

I've got the 200 gr SWC and the 201 gr SWC, which has a little longer nose. Both are good boolits. You got a good deal.

I had one of those moulds, they where highly accurate from my Kimber 1911, but only about 90% reliable. It’s two deep lube grooves worked nicely as a black powder boolit in my 45colt loads also. I traded the mould off once I got my hands on a Lyman 4-C 452374 because I found my self never using it.

Not sure of vel, but slow. Guess at 700-750.

They will just function the Pointman 7 with std spring, so maybe 750 is closer.
Tosses brass about 2-3 ft from me.

Did you have any feed problems with yours?
Thanks

Got my mold in the mail today, looks great, I cannot find any service rust, or any rust at all. Handles are lymans that have been altered to fit RCBS, whoever did it, did a good job.
Can't wait to start casting, but alas my casting is done in my back building and with a heat index above 100, I think I may wait for a cool spell to drop in :)

Well I just heard from Swedenelson, he's in the process of making (on the sly) the rcbs 200 SWC mould! No time frame other than soon! :)

Zero feeding problems with 452460 in Kimber Series One and Ptman 7, should be true in
others but have not really shot many in them. Very accurate in these pistols.

Try feeding a 1911 with a SC 452460! Makes a fellow really appreciate every shot;-)

I shoot the 452460 in three Kimbers and it feeds like a house a fire. Best of the bunch in my opinion. Since I've got a Lyman 4 banger that casts a perfect 453, I'd love to have Swede make in in a RG4, as I just haven't had good luck with the Mihec 200 hp as far as feeding.

I am sorry I guess I am feeling kinda dense, Why is this particular bullet hard to feed? I guess I should have also asked what does the SC stand for?

Single Cavity. What makes you appreciate every shot is the slow casting with SC. It feeds well in my guns.I have a double cavity and it's slow enough for me.
