I know this will have been discussed before but..................
The RCBS chargemaster combo seems to be the "standard" but there are a couple of new ones.
Hornady and Smartreloader have both just brought out their offerings.
I believe they are all made in China, maybe even the same factory!
They are both cheaper then the RCBS. $200 for the Smartreloader version.
Any one used either? Speed not a major factor but accuracy is.
The Smartreloader will run on 110 and 220 without a convertor.
I am coming to the US next week and plan on getting one of them.
No much on the net so far, good review on the Hornady on Youtube.
Cheers,
Tony

Ive got a pact and a new lyman. The pact has the speed update but is still slower then the lyman. Both are about equal in accuracy. they both stop plus or minus a .10 of a grain with rifle powders. Plenty accurate for me. I was out with a rem 700 06 yesterday and shot 3/4 inch 100 yard groups with ammo charged on the pact. Personaly if i had to give recomendations id say go with the pact or hornady. Lymans customer service can be pretty bad if something goes wrong.

Thanks for that Lloyd.
I am leaning toward the Hornady as I am chuffed to bits with my LnL auto press.
I cant imagine that there is much difference between any of them mechanically.

Is that a device produced in Eastern Europe?
If so I bought three of their vibrating cleaners.
I gave one away and the other two are casters up after a few thousands cases.
One went t**s up after a week. Bad connection on power to motor windings-bear to repair.
I'm currently looking at this website so as to describe my adventure with this product line.
Can't speak to the other products, but it'll be a real chilly day in hades before I buy any Smartreloader equipement of any kind!

One of my local gunshops sells Smart Reloader products. They told me they were made in China.

I would assume they could have things made in China.
The paper with my vibrating tumbler indicated origin in Europe.
May be because Smartreloader is a corporate entity in Italy.
Just know this particular product is a ***.
Actually, since I have two of them dead, then it would be 2 ***. Performed an autopsy on the 2nd vibrating mechanism.
Looks like bearings are worn out. About 1/8" play on end of shaft.
Hard to get rotor to rotate when it is magnetically affixed to the stator!
So let buyer beware.

What Dark Helmet said. I've been real happy with my Pact but at the same time I've never used any other brand. I will also admit to being very biased in favor of Made in U.S.A.

I have a Lyman that I am completely satisfied with.

I use a really inexpensive Frankfort Arsenal digital scale from Midway. It consistantly measures to the same degree of accuracy as my Lee safety scale and is much easier to use.

this has been discussed on multiple forums several times.
do a search of the forums.

for the average reloader, a simple beam scale is fine....try the lee

i have yet to see an INEXPENSIVE electronic that wil beat a beam...few will even match a beam.

to get better than a beam, you typically are talking past 300 dollars.

I thought the same at first but then decided it means just the opposite. If he is angry with his Hornady press then why would be be considering their powder dispenser? I looked it up and it means 'extremely pleased'.

But I agree that to those of us who learned English in America instead of where it originated, 'chuffed' sounds like either an angry word or a slang term meaning 'to be manually stimulated'.
