I've been looking for a good recipe to make for my 9mm and 45 ACP Cast Bullets.

After going through the "Lube Recipe" section .... my brain and eyes hurt.

So, I'm going to ask this ....

Given these possible ingredients .... what would be the best recipe to use?

I would like a hard lube that I can pan lube with for now for 9mm and 45 ACP.

The ingredients I have on hand are ...

Beeswax
Paraffin
Lee Liquid Alox
Bullplate
Vaselene
Automatic Transmission fluid
Crisco
Olive Oil

That's about all of the ingredients I have lying around.

What kind of lube can I make with any of the above combined ingredients that will give me a good solid lube for both 9mm and 45 ACP?

When I say 'solid' lube I mean a high temp lube that will stick to my bullets in 100 degree weather with little melt off.

Beeswax with just enough vaseline to make it act the way you want it to is all you need. Your needs as you presented them are fairly easy needs.

Thanks.

Now .... what lube would I use for my .308 hunting loads?

Well now you have gone and changed some of the requirements.

Beeswax and cheap caramel colored lithium grease..................if you do this you can use it FOR ALL of your needs.

Beeswax and alox is a pretty standard lube, 50/50. I still play with making lubes but when I am working up a load I use Carnuba Red, seems to work with everything I've tried...

How about speed green, bullplate and beeswax. No experience with it, but you have what you need.

I have a pound of Speed Green with Carnauba Wax. I may just use that for now.

If you could add Lithium greese to that list you would be in business for all the above cals.
