I figure the roll crimp die works well with .452 cast boolits however I would like to hear of how the die works with larger than normal 45 cal diameters say .454 to .455. Anyone who has experience trying this die with larger bullets I would like to hear if it sizes down/swages the front drive band or squeezes the bullet down during crimping or not.

OK well then does anyone use the Dillon Accu Crimp die in any other caliber that they cast/size at a bit larger than normal i.e. .432 for 44mag/special or .359ish for 38special/357 magnum. Even any info for the 41 mag????

Surely someone uses a Dillon Accu Crimp die.

RobS;
I have a couple of Dillon 550B's but only one set of Dillon dies. I have never needed a larger die (my guns take "standard" bullets).

However, if I had an older .45 Colt that required .454" bullets, I would just call Dillon and ask them. They have always steered me straight regarding ANY of their products., and-d-d, they back up what they say.

I just got done loading my first .45 Colts the other day. The crimp die seems to be taking the flare out OK, but it's not rolling it over like it does on my .38's. The inside of the die is just tappered. I think maybe I need to call Dillon myself. So far I have run just 12 test rounds.
