My first levergun just arrived today! I've been wanting a rifle in 35 Remington for a long time and was torn between lever or pump action. I was considering one of the old Standard Firearms pump or auto, but the prices they're getting now ended that idea. So along came this 336 at a reasonable price and I bought it. It was made in 1955 according to an online source., not pristine, but a fairly nice looking piece of machinery. I followed the Glenn Fryxell link in one of the posts below, he mentioned a 6 groove barrel, funny mine has seven. The reason why I've long wanted a 35 Remington is that I have a bunch of GI .308 brass, and a CH die that will swage the heads down to .460. Got that when I was making my own 6.5 jap brass. I just found that I have a Lyman Tru-Lock scope mount for the rifle in my collection too! This should be a handy little rifle for poking at the feral hogs that are rooting up my little piece of Ohio! Now to find me a good mold.

You now have a serious problem. You will wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. You now realize that "ONE" lever action isn't enough. You will have to acquire more...Just Kidding madsenshooter...(or am I)...Welcome to the club. Pictures are a definite asset... HL...

There's only ONE cure for leveritis:

Oh, I don't think I'll get leveritis, I already have Kragitis, once exposed to it you're immune to other itis's! I'm wondering about this 7 groove rifling, how do you measure a slug with an odd number of grooves? There's no grooves or lands directly across from each other!

Fantastic ! I got my first back in 1967 ... a Marlin 336 in 32 Winsheter Special. I would be hard pressed to say how many there are about the storage box... But needless to say I just purchased a 1975 made 45-70 1895. Not like I needed it but there it was and it sure needed a new home.
