I'm a newbie here. Sure is a great site. Virtual phd education is boolit shooting!
I have a 375H&H that I use for hunting moose with 270 Horn sp at 2850(chrono'd). Lotsa horsepower as far as I care to shoot. I have a 1.5-4.5 scope on it, zeroed at 300m. My point of this post is that I have a nice boolit load of 375449 ahead of 15gr of Unique that gives me moa. It hits the paper at 100m over a foot low, so rather than adjusting the scope, hold the crosshairs on the aiming point, and change the power of the scope until the top of the fat part of the duplex reticle is on the group you just fired. On my scope, that's about 3 power. The top of the fat reticle becomes your aiming point at 100m, and no need to change your scope settings. I had an old weaver K2.5 with a post reticle, and this feels just like it. I can't take credit for dreaming this up, I read it somewhere and tried it. Damn I love the simple stuff!
